You will need:
- Borax
- Washing Soda (sorry no picture of container! I tossed it a while ago.)
- Fels-Naptha
I purchased all these items at Walmart in the general area around the laundry soap. I store my ingredients typically in the white container shown holding the washing soda.
The most time consuming and most "difficult" part is grating the 2 Fels-Naptha bar. I have a cheese grater that is dedicated to soap making...I have no desire to cross contaminate my supper with soap.
😂
😂
Half way there! The bar grates pretty easy really.
Ah...done!!
Close up of all my hard work!
Now add 1 1/2 cups Borax and 1 1/2 cups Washing Soda.
Close up of the Borax.
Close up of the Washing Soda.
Then mix...and mix...and mix...and mix...and mix...
I started with a spoon but ended up using my hands as well. You want to make sure it is well mixed other wise your spoonful of laundry soap won't have all the right ingredients!
Isn't it a beauty? Feeling satisfied yet? I am!
All ready to wash laundry!
I was given a bunch of these white containers with lids a while back so I've used them to hold the ingredients after packaging has been opened and to hold my completed laundry soap. However, you can use any container that works for you. I put 1 to 2 Tablespoons into my wash. I grabbed my 1/8th cup from my kitchen dry measuring set and use that since 1/8 cup equals 2 Tablespoons.
I wrote the recipe on the back of my laundry soap bucket. The large lettering is the original recipe I was given but I normally make the larger batch/small lettering at the bottom.
